If by 'hammerhead' you mean what used to be called a stall turn this can be done in either direction.

In gliding the 'hammerhead stall' is a completely different manoeuvre, usually unintentional after the winch cable breaks.

Quite. In a prop aircraft is generally made easier in one direction due to torque/gyroscopic effects (unless you have a contra prop of course!). In a jet aicraft they'd generally be inadvisable! Grin

a pirouette is another term used for spot turn in helicopters, just means to spin on the spot. obvioulsy not done in a plane!lol

I like doing hammerheads in helicopters  Grin  give it a try some time!!  just be ready to pull pitch and counter the tail before you think you need it Wink

That would make a good fraps vid me thinks!
