This is old news. It happened at the BMFA Nationals at RAF Barkston Heath in August 2004. The video was posted soon afterwards. The pilot later admitted finger trouble.

Why exactly is it a laughing matter? A lot of time, money and effort would have gone into that model just to see it destroyed, i fail to see the humour.

What's interesting about that comparison is that apparently the same thing happened in both cases: the pilot banked too much for the airspeed available and it stalled right in the midst of the turn with one wing low.
Not the best way to discover your giant-scale model
