Hi all,

I have set up MSN Messenger for the first time and am having some trouble trying to get it to work. The reason i am using it is to speak with Michael at FS-GS (yes I'm taking the plunge  Wink). I attempted to speak with him this morning but couldn't hear anything and he could not hear me. I am pretty sure the problem is at my end and not his end obviously. I don't want to waste his time helping me set up Messenger and am wondering if anyone here could help me get it working, because i am billy no-mates and only have Michael added to MSN at the moment.

Thanks

Martin

Cameron, when i spoke to him i coudn't hear anything and he coudn't hear me.

Since then i have had a play with a few settings and some hardware and might have it working, but because i don,t have any contacts on MSN i cannot test it.

if anyone is up for helping me test it, PM me your MSN name if you want.

Martin

This does sound stupid, and rather obvious, but I have made the mistake myself before...

Try going: Tools > Audio and Video Setup.

The reason I say this is because the Microphone option is always available on MSN, even if you don't have one, so many people think it is enough to just plug one in, when really, you still have to integrate it into Messenger.

Hope that helped,

Alex

Or just try using the volume control on by the little mic.

That wouldn't solve his problem of not being able to hear the other guy...... Huh

Thanks for the suggestions guys.

I think the problem was a web cam i had installed, I uninstalled it and everything seems good now, it seamed to be messing up the on board sound.

Thanks

Martin
