Hope this is in the right forum. On all the prop aircraft that I have, freeware and payware, the prop tips are painted on both sides. All the aircraft that I have flown, real ones, the face of the blade, the side you see from the cockpit, is painted flat black, the back of the blade, other side, has the yellow tip. Just wondering why this is this way. I have some planes with the manufacture's logo decal etc. on both sides.
No big thing here, just wondering.

I believe it's painted in that way to prevent anti-glare. When the prop spins, whether it's painted in a gloss or flat, it's still brings out distinct distraction. Another reason, for the prop to be painted on the tip is for start up, it lets people know how large the propeller is and the tip, so it is a safety measure, to keep people from getting to close to the prop. It basically just shows the diameter of the propeller in motion and prevent' someone from accidentally walking into it, while it's running.

You are right in that the reason for the yellow tips is for safety. Standing in front of the aircraft with engine running a person will see the yellow circle and know how large the prop is. If the tips are painted on the side the pilot can see from the cockpit he also will see the yellow circle. This is a distraction for the pilot and can hinder safe operation of an aircraft. As I said before, I have never flown a real plane with the tips painted on the blade face.

most likely, the author either didn't know or they were trying to save room on their textures by mirroring the props.
