I have been flying in FS9 for 3 years. Up until October 2006, I was fine just the way it was, but after installing and playing FSX and seeing how fun the Multiplayer was (And I later ditched X becuz of its requirments) I was hopeing that there was still a way to connect to the world in FS9. I saw today the they ended the program on Zone.com that was used for Multiplayer, so I was wondering if there was an anlternitive.

I have tried FSInn and Tried to Download SquawkBox 3 but wasn't quite sure how to use them.

I anyone could help me it would be greatly appreciated

Nick  Cool

PS: I know this might be in the wrong forum but I wasnt sure where to post it so I posted it here.

I think that has to do with flying on Zone, which when I went to go into, it said they no longer do CD-rom games.

I have the same problem. Just got the game on Christmas, and have been playing it feverishly since. If you want to play on an online server, you have to know the IP address of the host (LAAAAAAAME!). Anyways, our forum's server has an IP address of: 85.10.244.109     . Type that into the IP address in the Multiplayer menu, and you should find the server. If you need more info, look at some of the permanent topics at the top.

Lot's of us on the server. You just have to hit the right time of day. There were 9 or 10 flying Jimbo's tour. Most of us use our forum names as well.

Go get FSHostSpy. After installing this small program, run it. It will list all the servers up and running, how many and who is flying on that server....all the info you need.

Copy the Server's IP number, paste that into your FS9 Multiplayer Server IP number and off you go.

Good Luck.

To answer your first question, yes, mikes are used in FS9's multiplayer, but you need the right mike program (teamspeak, ventrillo, etc). For your second question, many of us do use our forum names. If you don't know, ask a perrson in-game what their forum name is. I, however, always play with my forum name.

You can connect with FSX to FSHost Sessions (FS8/9).
It´s explained in this thread
http://www.simviation.com/cgi-bin/yabb2/YaBB.pl?num=1148901173

!!! And make sure FSInn is not running when connecting to a FSHost Server !!!!!

cheers,
