I Fly Sim!

I tried to play online earlier today but I dont quite how this game works online, yet. Do you have to start at the same airport or near the host to hear them,,whats the proper way to talk to people online since its a sim. I have enough knowledge of the game to fly any plane do most anything, but I am a little unsure of how online works. Do I just fly whereever I want and hit caps lock to talk with the ATC controller for clearance to land or takever instead of hitting ~...I would really like if there is a club I could join that I could learn from how online works and stuff etc...
Either relpy here or to my Email at Chetballard@gmail.com
Thank you

Hi, Welcome to SimV. There are many servers out there. Some with ATC and some with free fly. SimV has its own server on 85.10.244.109 but if you want a flight club, go to
www.infc.co.nr
to register. The website is under constrction right now so wait a few days to a week to register. The server IP for the INFC club is 208.107.35.133 . If you want ATC, go here
www.vatsim.net

I am just a train fan who happens to like flying and
attempting to get the better of the mods especially those with 20/20 vision

Hi and welcome to Simviation,
I don't want to dissapoint you but to be able to speak to somebody in the sim you need some other software besides the simulator. What you need is TeamSpeak (just google for it, it'll come up). Install it, run it, connect to the teamspeak server of the host where you want to fly and start your sim. If you get online remember that the Vatsim servers are for ATC talk only. On free flight servers you can talk about anything you like.
Have fun,
Crash
PS. Just remembered something: Vatsim doesn't use TeamSpeak it uses Squawkbox. Similar but you can read all about it on their website
www.vatsim.net
.

For FSX multiplayer you
do not
need any additional software or know I.P. addresses. All you need is a gamespy account and a mic.
Where to begin is mainly up to whoever hosts the session. Most of the time you can select where you want to start, but sometimes the host may not have this option selected.
To speak to everyone in the game, press <shift> + <caps lock>. If you are sharing an aircraft, or using a specific radio freq. provided by the host in the game description, press only <caps lock> to speak on that freq.
Hope this helps. See you online!

Ok you guys keep reccomending Vatsim, although its a GREAT service and great fun, he needs to do some small server flying first. Check out our server (I.P. givin) and also do a goodle search for FS virtual airlines. The one I belong to is British Virtual Airways and they offer a flying club and online help. Check it out:
http://www.bavirtual.co.uk/
You need to take a test to join buts its quite nice. Just read the info under administration and youll be set.

its easy to log online, or u do is creat a game spy account and then log in, when u have loged in you can click any server and join, pick ur aircraft and click fly now, then the session will load up, when u want to speak to anyone just hold down the caps lock the speak, when finished speaking release the caps lock.
