I started playing drums as early as I can remember, since drums were just "in the house".  My dad was a musician...... involved in the military bands as a band leader (as well as MP) in Europe during WWII.  He played clubs a bit after the war.  Somehow I just picked it up through genetics and availability of the instruments.  By 13 years old... I was playing professionally in clubs ("bar issues" were a tad easier to overcome way back then).  Played in bands all through high school.

In college in the late 60's a friend and I got a band together (Clear Sky) that lead to a lot of success for about 5 years ...... at first just college gigs....but then we lived together and played together over the summers... and then we were FT after college.  All that time it resulted in lots of $ in the pocket, lots of travel and gigs, NYC recording studios, a major label ready to sign us, and so on.  But with the real "big time" about in our hands....... too may years, too many gigs, too much "road"... and we all simply burned out on the music business.  But it was a fun ride while it lasted  Wink.

Still have my kit...... Gretch with Zildjins all around........... but I haven't played since about 1972 except a pick up gig once about 4 years ago.

Hagar's photo near the beginning of the thread got me searching thru the photo albums.........

Below... a very old shot of CLEAR SKY on stage in a concert (god knows where this was .....it all became a blur Tongue) in about 1970-71.  From left to right......... Gary Morris (guitar), me (drums), Christine Duquette (lead vocal), Rolo Besaw (bass), Bob Henderson (guitar).

...
