PART 1Autogen / Scenery of the Area

The autogen, as stated earlier, is placed better than that of default. When flying above the fields, trees follow the boundaries of the fields and when above the town, buildings are placed next to roads instead of on them. Also there are certain buildings which aren’t the usual houses etc – near the centre of Dinard there are tightly packed terraces and in the center of these a Chapel or Church, with a Ferry in the docks.

But, as you can see above, attention isn’t just paid to Dinard. The small villages around the airport and Dinard have autogen which is well placed, and the trees aren’t dotted in any old random place. In wooded areas around the airport (as you can see in previous shots), there are plenty of trees.
About that ferry in the docks...yes, you can fly through it.

However, this is where the scenery’s drawback lies. It does sap framerates, probably as to be expected with any good scenery, but I lose about 5 or 6 frames which drops me down to about 15FPS (my humble computer only just gets about 20FPS).
The landclass provided is brilliant. When flying low above the river, you can distinctly see small cliffs leading to the water’s edge, giving a greater sense of realism to the sim.
Overall the autogen is of good quality and strategically placed, and earns 7 out of 10 from me.
The overall impression of this package is fantastic. When I first downloaded it, I was indeed blown away, as this was my first ‘large’ scenery package (by that I mean not just an airport scenery). If you love to go “Low and Slow”, I would certainly recommend it. However, it’s one drawback is the loss of framerates due to autogen, although I’m sure that this can be managed by your FS9 settings.
The initial impression of the scenery is good and it never fails to please me every time I use it. It provides a good area for some peaceful, sunny GA flying, but also provides a fantastic scenery area for a commercial flight.
