Personally, I think that to pay in excess of £100 for ANY OS is outrageous. I've always used Microsoft OS, from windows 95 onwards but just cannot justify the price, even when and if my PC will ever be able to handle it..
Rob.
Linux anyone?   Wink

I am planning to buy Ultimate, and really don't have any problem with paying the price. The thing you are all forgetting is that Home Professional will do the job just the same as XP Pro does. So Ultimate is not needed except for bragging rights.

Well I'm going for retail, but only because I can get an employe discount from work.

@Alrot. Yes your CPU is supported by Vista, you just will have to run a 32bit envirnment, not a 64. it really not a big deal actually.
Your system should achive a 3, which means you can run Aero glass, and all the eyecandy. It should run exactly the same speed as XP with eye candy, without it will run much faster.
