It's an honorary title conferred on me by the mods some time ago. I accepted it in the spirit it was given but have to admit I find it embarrassing. To be honest I would prefer not to have it or my large number of posts which means precisely nothing. Embarrassed

It was awarded in recognition of all the help Doug has given to everyone here. I don't think there is a single member who has not had Doug come up with a bonza answer at some time or another. I know he has pulled me out of a few sticky situations over the years Grin

It means he's one rung down from the almighty himself...

I think it'd be funny to give all the members who have been around for a while special nicknames, just for fun.

depends on what you class as "for a while", really.
Theres no need to go changing anything, i've been here for "a while"(short stint on the ultraboard then lost my username) but i know i dont deserve or need a change to anything. Mr Fozzer and Woody are two others who've been here a while, but i'm sure they arn't too bothered by name changes either.
Not sure who else has been here longer, aside from Pete and Ozzy/Felix/Bman and they are all mods so they need no changes Wink The longer your here the more I think you realise theres no real point to all these post counts and titles as such.
The special case here is Doug, who's put so much of his time into helping people with every aspect of the hobby. Wink

Anynoe who hasn't really out to look at the links in Doug's sig, and they will give you an idea of why Doug is our sole "Member Emeritus", along with a trawl back through the forum over the past few years. Smiley

There are a lot of "special" people here - in every sense.

I'd like to see one former member recognized the way athletes are honored by retiring their numbers - FSTipster.

That name should be permanently retired and no one should ever be allowed to register it again.

John, I'm raising a glass to you right now.

I second that!
Although I never got the honour to talk with him, I knew he was one of the best! Cheesy
A good friend, and a guy, that really loved aviation! Cheesy
