I would never offer criticism unless people specifically ask for it (though I very occasionally break this rule - only human....).

Anyone who posts below par shots on this forum will soon stop doing it after looking around a bit, unless they're dead from the neck up. Or, their computer is ancient and there's nothing they can do. Or they have other priorities  Smiley

If they are really into shooting screenies then they'll soon ask for tips. Then it's okay to give them.

People should comment more on pictures they like, so that they stay on the front page and the contributor feels good.
It breaks my heart to see stunning or interesting posts go unanswered, which happens all too often, and if I have the time I try to 'rescue' them by bumping.

Just don't comment on stuff you don't like - save your time and energy and make an effort to post comments on the good stuff. Rubbish will soon disappear then, anyway... natural selection  Wink

Posting a screenshot is an implicit request for comments, and one can not assume they will all be positive.
Anyway, I found that I tend to get upset when *I* receive negative criticism about my shots, so I've adopted a rule of thumb: I only comment if I have something positive to say, unless there is an explicit request for criticism, and even in this case, I think twice before posting constructive criticism.
