Hi people

Just got my FSX loaded and started.  Grin

Now for my first problem....  Shocked

Took the hand brake off my 747, powered up the engines and started taxing, took a look on the outside view, and the wheels are sparking and leaving smoke trails???

I don't think thats right, I've tried jiggling the hand brake and messing with the Auto brakes but nothing seems to work. Undecided

Any one else have the same problem and sorted it out?  Smiley

Cheers
Phil

Yes, I've seen that brake smoke on a number of my aircraft. I don't recall which ones though.
The problem, and I do believe it is a FSX glitch, doesn't appear to affect all aircraft.
Seems like one part of the sim thinks the brakes are ON and another part belives they
are OFF.

If you are taxiing on an icy (or wet) airfield, you get this effect.

I don't think it's a brake thing. I don't even think you can lock the brakes up in the sim. It sounds like a contact point, in this case a "wheel" is being treated as a "scrape". Or at least it's evoking scrape effects.

Try changing the season to summer and weather to fair to see if the "smoke" you get from a wet or snow-covered runway goes away.

I've had a couple of add-on jets 'hop' and smoke the tires when I'm taxiing, but I usually only see that bug when I'm switching views and it rotates back to the external view.  Don't think I've seen sparks.
