My guess is that the nose gear went through a puddle of sh*tty water quite fast and sprayed it eeeeverywhere....

A bigger problem for German F4's is the exhaust. The biggest downer for a German F4 pilot is that you can be seen coming before the enemy radar has got you. Imagine a shuttle launch..........then colour it black

Most countries use red, white or blue for displays, however the German Air Force uses black
