From what I have heard, possibly.

Very interesting
I will get a look at that after the first of the year when all the smoke clears
at work
The theory appears sound. As for the need to move archive data, O&O will do that if you name the folder it resides in to a letter which begins with X - Y or Z however I would still never keep archive data on a boot partition and place it on another drive for storage.
It that defrag software optimizes based on the layout.ini file for boot and also allows for sequential file name optimizing, which is how scenery files are designed, it may very well be a good alternative to O&O especially for those who may question their older Windows installs and want to avoid possible corruption issues from pre SP2 files.

Well, I've had it for two days, and have done a full defrag (very nice) and one of FSX. Where I was getting 13-15-20 FPS before, I'm getting a reasonably constant 20-24 now, although I don't tend to go near busy airports...

That was flying with normal settings around Friday Island. I've certainly seen a fair decent improvement, and now when I move the sliders further right in both scenery density and traffic I'm well into double figures whereas before I was struggling...
To be fair, as it's a 7 day trial, you can't lose...

It is my understanding defrag software can not increase frame rates, not even by 1.
What it can do is significantly smooth scenery stutters and make things load much faster however even going from a standard hard drive to a high speed raid array will not raise frame rates, at all.
