The first addon so please be kind  I installed the f-14 tomcat  which was quit the task for no experience on a computer . I dumped the f-14 into the sim objects folder but the other files  were not clear to me .
The textures file went to textuers and the gauges to the gauges . The f-14 came with other files like paintkit and manuel . I Thought that there were 4 folders to put things in ,model panel , sound and texture . Well I got most of it right so I thought . The jet has no gauges that work . It flys but doesn't crash . Numerouse problems . Should I uninstall the fsx and start  again or what to do.Before I attempt to add more addons I would like to streighten out the first foul up I made .

Ahh, that makes more sense. Wink

I haven't tried the F-14 yet, but you should be able to install the aircraft folder into the .../sim objects/aircraft folder, and the guages in the guages folder, effects in the effects folder, etc..., if that doesn't work, don't reinstall FSX, just read the readme that came with the F-14, otherwise check for any updates for it, because if it's the one I am thinking of, there were numerous updates, otherwise, the F-14 might not work with FSX, I know my T-45 gauges don't work in FSX, so I don't really have any gauges for it, but it still flies.  If there's other problems, maybe you could explain them more so we could try and fix it?

Well it's suppose to be compatable . It downloaded into a fs9 folder of its own .I didn't need to unzip it , it was installed automatically. I will check out the updates to see if there are any .This author is Iris . Everything looks real good and the sound is on . If it had gauges it would be complete .
One thing I couldn't figure out was a file that came  along with it called paintkit all one word and one called manuals . Do you have a suggestion about where they go?
And if for some reason I need to extract the files from where they were installed is there a  method to do so .

Ohhh, it's the IRIS F-14?  As far as I know, it only works in FS9, I don't know about FSX though.  You should probably ask in the payware section at the bottom of the list of forums here.
