I am currently scouring the auto-traders for a 3-door hatch (hopefully red)

Boy racer at heart eh?  Grin  Wink

Indeed it does, when viewed in the rear view mirror of an Audi A3, the best hatch in my opinion  Smiley

Rob.

Im sure it does :p I am in no disallusions that the focus is the fastest hatch! but as far as value for money goes, its right up there!

Being 20, I am yet to have a bank account or insurence quotes that could allow me to have an A3 or anything like that. I am going to be getting a new car in the near future, and am torn between the afor-mentioned focus or a peugeot 406 coupe. reliability & economy vs originality & style. hmmmm

as for the boy racer comment.... live fast, die young, make a pretty corpse  Grin. nah seriously, i do like to put my foot down a bit - find me a 20 yr old guy who doesnt, but I am always careful about where and when i do (usually the motorways at night when it is quiet). The health and financial risks involved are not worth it to go bombing down country lanes at reckless speeds.

EDIT: Just looked on autotrader and there are 1998 A3's on there for pretty reasonable money, and I got an insurence quote for a 1.6 petrol that was the same as for the focus & much less than the peugeot! I am very suprised and you have certainly given me somethng to think about!
