I flew that flight. You're right. If you track the 010 radial, you end up missing the airport to the east.

So........  I ran the flight plan through DUATS and here's what it gives:

From: BHM -- Birmingham AL
To:   KUOS -- Sewanee TN (Franklin County)
Alt.: 4,000 ft.  Profile: 90G
Time: Thu Dec 21 18:54 (UTC)

No-wind option selected.
Routing options selected:  Direct.
Flight plan route:
 GAD

Flight totals: fuel: 9 gallons, time: 1:06, distance 115.9 nm.

    Ident  Type/Morse Code  |                                   | Fuel
    Name or Fix/radial/dist    |                                   | Time
Latitude Longitude Alt.     | Route   Mag  KTS  Fuel | Dist

3. KUOS   Apt.                    | +9 C    005  108    74   |  8.7
    Sewanee TN (Franklin Co |--------+----+---+-----  -| 1:06

---+--------+---------+-----     |                                 |------

As you can see.. it calls for the 005 radial from GAD. And that works out perfectly in the sim too (tried it).

I think, maybe the FSX flight planner was expecting you to do an instrument approach.

Either way (I never use the FS flight planner). Try plotting it on a real sectional and you'll get a 005 from GAD.

Well shoot, there you go.  I guess I was flying it right after all, they just told me wrong.  Glad thats cleared up, now I just need to start planning my flights using something more reliable than the FS flight planner.

Again, thank you, yall were a great help. Ill keep practicing with this, then maybe try some harder stuff.

EDIT: Um, do you mind pointing me to anything free I can use to make a plan like you did?
