Well, after gettin are new computer, I am now getting a good 7-10FPS in FSX with pretty high settings (but, Bi-linear filtering)

I decided to go out on a limb and try for the first time, the Amazon trek mission.

Wow.

I decided to go ahead and accept the "extra" mission and try to find the snake temple.

I finally found it, taxied into the little area. and waited.

HOLY !@#@!!!

When the snake heads came out of the ground I was admittedly surprised.  My joystick is slightly borken and couldn't completely get the left rudder to come into affect. I had to taxi onto the ground, THEN remember to lower my landing gear, pushing me off the ground, continue taxing, taxing back into the river, raiseing the gear, then, taxing out. I was as surprised by the raising snake heads on the way out.

THen, I take off and the "curse" came into effect.

At first, I thought I had just bumped the joystick kinda oddly. Then, I heard the so-pilot say something about it. I found it weird at first the MS would put a recording in just for going a little crazy with the controlls. I then figured it was part of the mission.

I continue flying back to the airport, then, the right engine blows a leak and spews oil everywhere, resulting in the loss of the right engine. I was told to feather the prop and i'm going "How the heck do I feather the prop?!"

Anyways, I tyr to lower the flaps to gain altitude, assuming that my left engine would go out and I'd need to make an emergency landing. I figured, I'd want every foot of altitude possible. But, of course, the flaps malfunction  Roll Eyes

The attitude incdicator fails, the altitude fails, nearly everything else fails.

THEN! The left engine catches fire. I thought about reducing power, but, that runway looked really close and I wanted down....fast.

I come in to land in a position wher I have to make a left turn to land. Now, my left engine is still running, trying to push my left wing out. I'm trying to push my RIGHT wing out.  Roll Eyes If I do it again, I'll try to approach from the left, that way, my dead engine won't be working against my working engine.I'll tell the truth. I was way to high. I didn't actually touch down till about 3/4s down the runway.

I was so happy I touched down....but, I wouldn't stop. I held the breaks, reversed the prop, and even tried rudderring back and forth to kill speed....those trees are getting kinda close...ok, they're getting really close....*crash* Dang.  I got all the way through the mission just to run into a freakin tree.

Anyways, that probably has been the most fun mission yet for me. Smiley

P.S.And just on a side note, this is my first post on the new forum. I liked the old one better.  There are some things i like about this one, but, I preferred the old one...oh well.

Cheers! Cool

I had to do the same thing with the gear to get turned around then when I got backed to the airport I landed fast but was able to hit the brakes and give it full rudder and spin the plane around to a stop next time try saving the mission just before you land you. have you tried the mission Tokyo executive transport it's great Wink
