Hi everyone, (Just hope someday someone reads this)
I really love the new forum format, it's just amazing.
I don't want to bother Admins or anything but I just have a little suggestion for the format. I'll try to explain it.
Lots of computers run at 1024*768 screen resolution, in my case is not because I want to (I would chose a higher res) but because my LCD monitor can't run at higher ones
.
Today, when I was watching the thread I made with some shots... I noticed some shots were cut.
Just like this...
So if I wanted to look at the other side, I had to use the scroll bar.
Just like this...
And if the shot I want to look entirely is the 1st one of a set of 5, I have to go downnnnnn and use the scroll bar, and it's quite uncomfortable.
I noticed this happened only on 1024*768 or lower res, because I used my cousins laptop with 17' and it didn't happen.
Now the quiestion is..
Is there any way to make a wider space? I see that there's a blank space at the sides of the screen so is there anyway to take that space and use it to make the 800*600 screenshots fit better?
Sorry for my bad english but hope someone understands it

I understand what you are saying, the feature is there so that you scroll the image/signature, rather than having to scroll the entire page (which is useful for threads with mostly text that can be thrown off by 1 very wide picture).
Modifying this would need modifying the forum template script. Pete is man to talk to about changing that.

But the scroll bars only appear in IE7 and Firefox. So it would be out of the frying pan and into the fire.
IE6 seems optimum for these forums.

Correction. The vertical scroll bars on large sigs don't appear in IE6 that's all. I don't really see that as an advantage.

Considering everyone here is trying to get rid of them, I do.

I'm all for it & think hiding those oversized sigs is a definite advantage.
If it encourages people to make them smaller that would be a bonus.

Just changed my screen resolution from 800x600 to 1024x768, seems really strange to me
but hopefully i'll adjust. I just asked my brother if he noticed anything different about the computer and he couldn't even tell
And the good news is that in
this
thread i no longer get those awful scrollbars like i did before hand!
But sadly i still get the in the freeware screenshot forum etc... where they have bigger images, at least the scrollbars arn't as big as they were and i don't have to scroll far to look at the whole images.
Sadly im still having the problem with the forums being glued to the left hand side of the screen! Anyhelp with that?
Cheers
Luke
P.S. - That reminds me i must try flight simulator to see how it all looks.

That seems to be a result. I'm sure you will soon adjust.

You didn't say which browser you're using. The only thing I can suggest is to update to the latest version or try a different one.

If you're running FS in Full Screen mode it shouldn't look any different.

Currently using IE5 (I think
) Dont ask why!
Would downloading the latest version mess up my computer internet setting etc? Because i have a bad history with breaking internets and i cant afford to be fixing computers!
By the way im using windows 98 if that concerns anything...
And yes FS looks extremely clearer! I wish i had done this sooner!

Ah, in that case it might be wiser to leave well alone.

Unless you're running FS in Windowed mode the desktop resolution shouldn't make any difference.

Well how simple is it? Is it just where you download it and it does all the work, and all you need to do is click yes here and there to licencse agreements etc... I just want to know that by installing a new version of IE it wont cause all of my internet to stop because my computer is too old.
It keeps asking me every now and then to upgrade but i never do, due to fear of it altering my internet settings and my computer being to old and for it to stop working, and me not being able to fix it.

Upgrading your browser shouldn't cause problems but on the other hand I don't know if it will fix this one. If this is your only complaint & you're otherwise happy with it I would seriously leave it alone. I shall deny all responsibility if you mess it up.

Hmmm, i'll really concider it now, as IE5 is OLLLD! And such stuff like MSN live messenger isn't compatitable with IE5, and my brother moans at me for having to use Web Messenger. But are you pretty sure that the installation is fool proof and it wont need me to anything special except press 'go'
And will the fact that im using Win98 have any affects?

As I said earlier, it shouldn't cause problems but things can & do go wrong & I'm in no position to make any guarantees. We don't even know that this would fix your little problem. I would seriously leave it for now.

O.k, i'll leave it for now, but if the installer does all the work, then nothing should really go wrong as you have pretty much assured me that it wont mess around with my internet connections...

I said nothing of the sort.
Please don't put words in my mouth.
This should be automatic if you visit the Windows Update site. You might find a lot of recommended updates that will take a while to download/install & I make no promises that nothing will go wrong. If your PC is running without any problems (except for this little forum glitch) my advice would be to leave well alone.
