My understanding from the NaturalPoint forums is the only reaons TrackIR was limited to VC in FS9 was because the flight sim software couldn't handle it.

Everyone has their own preferences. Having watched your vid again I can only say that panning around with the 2D panel still in view is not natural. Either there's a conflict of some sort or TrackIR isn't as fully compatible with FSX as the developers would have you believe.

Now that I agree with, lol.

In fact, I tend to switch to 2D, hide all the panels to clear the screen and use the red text at the top of the screen when I'm flying in the mountains.

I use a projector to get a nice big image so I get really good views in great scenery. You can probably see what I mean from this old vid I made for UKATC - no 2d panels but you can probably see why I like the view cleared occasionally (and yes I know it's a cr*p landing Cheesy

)

I think mini-panel view is a good compromise. (W key)
