Well...I did it! (Read 779 times)

I have had FSX Deluxe since it came out and I just got around to downloading it today.

I decided to remove FS2004 and all it's components from the computer and replace it with FSX.

Well the first thing I noticed is there is no menu at the top of my screen or the bottom of my screen when FSX opens.
I do not have the option of changing aircraft or weather plus numerous other items like seasons, FS Browser, traffic etc...etc.
I am used to seeing my start menu at the bottom of the screen and that is not there either.

I notice when I use escape to end a flight FSX pops back to my main icon screen or Windows Screen for several seconds prior to going back into FSX.

I also notice the program is not running as smooth as FS2004.

I am sure there will be a lot more minor problems but if anyone has a solution for my above immediate problems I shall be very happy.  Wink

Cheers...Happy Landings...Doug

Hi Alex:

Not sure what you mean by the term "activation".

I downloaded two (2) discs and registered the program.

I use the Flight Sim programs for instrument approaches mostly so there is no need to keep all of them on the computer.
I can redownload anytime FS2004 and it's addons.  Smiley

It sounds to me that you've been running FS9 in Windowed mode for some reason. FSX runs in Full Screen mode by default (as do previous versions of FS). Press Alt to bring up the inflight menu bar. Alt + Enter toggles between Full Screen & Windowed mode.

It is common for Americans to use the term "Downloading" for "Installing" software on their computers.

It might be common now but this is a comparatively recent trend. I don't think it's confined to Americans by any means. (Trucker is Canadian.) It obviously avoids confusion if people asking for help can use the correct terminology.
