Can anyone tell me where I can get a REALISTIC 737 sound from that doesn't sound like a musical vacuum cleaner?

Just recently I have found myself at Bournemouth Airport on Sunday afternoons around the time a Ryan Air 737 takes off. I was amazed at the deep-throated thundery roar it gave off as it powered away down the runway & then up & away.   In comparison none of my fs9 sounds sound at all like that.  In fact, most seem quite like musical vacuum cleaners.

I have searched the sound files & read how realistic they are, but when I get them they sound no better than the musical vacuum cleaners I already have.

Many thanks.

Do you mean for AI or for your planes?  For your planes you just have to search and try all sorts of different packages ntil you find the one you like.  None are perfet, and not all planes or addons are the same.  Keep in mind that most sound packages are made to sound realistic only from certain viewpoints, IE some are made for the most realistic cockpit environment (sounds in the cockpit sound different than in the pax cabin) or for close range exterior, not like what you would have heard.

I usually look at download numbers when I look for a soundset, tyipcally the most popluar ones are the best.

If you are talking about AI, then I dont think theres any way to change it...Im 90% positive that AI sound is either prop or jet and all are the same regardless of the aircraft, ie the 737 sounds the same as the 747

Hi.  Aircraft not AI.   I trawled through all the ones I have last night to sort the wheat from the chaff.    One of the best is Rick Piper's Gloster Meteor T7 that came with its own sound.  PO's 757-200 isn't bad either.  That's not many decent sounding jets from the ones I have.   My criticism is they mostly sound too musical & a bit like vacuum cleaners!

I'll check download numbers, as you suggest.  Thanks for the tip!

The one I'm using (my favourite I've found) is this one here (I believe this is the one anyway, but either way the sounds I have are great 8))
