Deluxe has the G1000 cockpits and a few other aircrafts. It also has that MP tower thing which from what I've heard is tons of fun...Standard is missing the SDK's and such...Don't know too much

I think Deluxe is worth it for what 10 more Euros, US Dollars, Australian Dollars, deutchemarks
. The Maule is really fun to fly. Same for the Goose.

IT is worth it to spend the extra $20 or so.
You know the jet truck mission? That's only a deluxe mission, so, if you want to "race the truck", so to speak, you need to get FSX deluxe.

I got the standard model as a gift so I can't rightly complain. Is there any upgrade kit or patch of sorts which can up the standard to the DeLuxe level?

There is no upgrade from Standard to Deluxe. If you want the Deluxe version you will have to go & purchase it.
