Welcome to another edition of Judges Choice. This time around our prestigious judge is unquestionably one of the finest screenartists SimV has ever produced... Krigl. In keeping with our members requests, he's chosen a topic I feel will bring out a much neglected but very relevant topic in the art of taking screenshots...well, how about Krigl describes this edition's topic...

"The thing I love most, visually, about FS is the beautiful cloudscapes one can create. I don't think I'm alone in this, so I hope there will be interest in this competition to produce the most delicious cloud-filled skies you can!!!!"...

The Rules:

All aircraft, scenery and environment packages allowed, both payware and freeware, but no editing.
The picture doesn't have to contain a plane - it can just be of clouds! However, the clouds should be the most important element in the shot if this is the case.
It can be at any time of day, but no 'sunset silhouettes' please Cheesy Too easy!!! In fact, I'm a bit allergic to too many sunsets....

Crazy or realistic, it's up to you, but the aim is to create gorgeous skies...

...

"I wish you all lots of luck and hope to see some great cloudy entries!"

Krigl

Nice! I think I'm interested... but just to clear up one thing?

When you say no "sunset silhouettes" are you talking about the sun creating a silhouette on the clouds when it filters through it like this:

...

Or are you just referring to very dark silhouettes on an aircraft?

If this isnt clear I'll attempt to explain more. Just need to clear this up.

Good question! What I mean is, I'm not interested in 100 pictures which silhouette the plane against the setting sun  Cheesy   In your picture, the sky looks cool, but the clouds and the plane are in darkness. I want to be able to see the clouds! Nothing wrong with sunset shots, they often look beautiful, but it is easy to get a great effect that way, and this is a cloud competition, not sunsets....

Cheers

Krigl

Wow  Shocked

Things are really hotting up here now - Sure Mr Jake, please consider your new post a replacement for your first effort. The aurora borealis one is gorgeous too and there are some great eye-catchers among previous entries too..... it's going to be hard to choose!

I know it's not just clouds, but the bottoms of clouds as well as their interactions with terrain are just as important as the tops of the clouds.  Real world weather always makes the best weather, in my opinion.

Okay guys, just seen the great new additions and read this.

THE DEADLINE IS SATURDAY AT 10 PM GMT.

I will send Clipper my choice soon after. If Clipper could alert people to the deadline somehow that would be great!

If anyone would still like to enter before then that's cool, please do!

If anyone wants to change their entry I don't mind.

Cheers, and keep the great stuff coming!

Krigl
