Its designed for people who know how to read XML code and have 3D modeling software experience.
and for people who understand what the term 'minimum hardware requirements' means.
In 2001 it required 512mb of memory to boot and run WindowsXP at its full potential, 768mb for minor games to run SMOOTH and 1-1.5mb for a game such as FS9. There is no secret about that and there is no false advertising.
If you dont understand that a bit research will enlighten you very quickly.
Install Adobe Premiere on your system and encode a 2 hour movie.. then call Adobe up and tell them "they have to be kidding" with the minimum hardware specs placed on a very, very, expensive software package.
The will laugh you off the phone when you tell them what you are running for hardware.

Difficult to complain about the minimum specs for FSX when your computer falls short of meeting them.
Woodlouse2002 PITA and BAR!!!!!!!!&&&&Our Sovereign Lord the King chargeth and commandeth all persons, being assembled, immediately to disperse themselves, and peaceably to depart to their habitations, or to their lawful business, upon the pains contained in the Act made in the first year of King George the First for preventing tumults and riotous assemblies. God Save the King.&&&&Viva la revolution!

Some people seem to almost always confuse the minimum specs and think that it's a list of what's needed to "enjoy" the sim when in fact it's a list of what's needed to "run" the sim at it's "minimum potential".
Again, there is a fine line between "running" and "enjoying" the sim. If your sim can run at 3 FPS without crashing, then it can run.

I think the line is quite fat, actually...
