Warning signs are so common now 'days that they're meaningless. Such an area really should be fenced off (straight in to the low-tide water line). Counting on a sign to warn people is dangerous.
Now, if warning signs weren't so rediculously common (do we really need to be warned that coffee is hot?) then perhaps people would take them seriously and this type of thing wouldn't happen.
Sure is funny though.
