P4 2.8
1GB RAM
AGP ATI Radeon 9550 256MB

It crawls along at 7FPS, and will only run at 20+FPS with ALL sliders DOWN TO THE MINIMUM!!
I will stick with FS9 and FSP as I am as happy as a pig in *@!* knowing that my autogen is very dense and my FS9 looks amazing while running at 30FPS!

From what I saw, FSX DOES look more attractive with sliders up, they really have done a better job with the scenery, but running at 7FPS, whats the point?

FSX will be in the back of a draw untill I can afford a new PC.

Avaiation-wise, it doesnt seem like FSX has much more to offer (how can you beat FS9?), its just tarted up to look more appealing, although the performance is appauling!

im sorry but i have to disagree with your last remark. Why is Bill a thief? It's not his fault that your computer can't run FSX.

9550 256MB = low grade video card so you get low grade FSX and med-low FS9 performance

you cannot hope for a dunkey to win kentuky derby, so dont expect a low grade card to give you lighting and high graffics with 20 fps, it just dont work.

now humor i like a good laugh, but when a guy calls Bill that he's a thief because his weak computer can't handle FSX now that's not humor that an insult.

He is a thief!! He has put a programme onto the market for which no hardware or software exists (Vista and DX10 are not yet on the market!!(hardware just!!)) And when it does become available it will need at least 12 months of ironing out the bugs. In other words FSX is on the market tooooooo early. And HE's making money out of you all. Thre rest of us will sit and wait until all/most of the bugs have gone and the new hardware is affordable!!

Better to release it early.. I think. It will help the debugging.. and in the mean time.. if you DO have the hardware to run it,  you can enjoy it now (I am).. Holding on to software until EVERYbody who wants it, can afford the hardware, makes no sense. And besides.. if that time ever came (it never will) newer, better hardware will be out and take the simming experience to ever higher levels..

The problem is that only now is hardware available that can run FS9 smoothly. If people "can" afford to go out and buy a top system and Vista and DX10 "just" to run FSX then good luck to them. But for most of us mortals that doesn't make economic sense "and" we can't afford it. I would say that at least 50% of the sim community is still upgrading just in order to run FS9 well! Let alone FSX!!!
