How do I create thumbnail pictures from the Aircraft Selection window, I see others making quite decent selections of pictures from what appears to be this area - is there an easy way to do this ?

Excellent question . . . easy answer:
1.) make a 256x128 jpeg using any image
2.) copy and paste image into FSX aircraft folder
3.) rename it thumbnail.jpg
4.) copy&paste the texture.cfg file from another repaint
5.) load FSX and view your masterpiece

There are prizes for anyone who can spot my Under Construction thumbnail in above image
P.S. Also works with FS9 aircraft added to FSX

Take a screenshot & save it in JPEG format as thumbnail.jpg
Then paste it in the Texture folder of the appropriate variation of the aircraft.

PS. You might like to resize the shot before saving it.
