1. FSX does not support duel core (at least not yet).
2. No card on the market (not even SLI) can get you the fps you desire. Not until DX10 comes out that is.
3. Bottoms up.

I'm getting playable results on a year old 7800gt256..

I'd imagine a 7950 series 512MB card would do pretty well.

I'll bet  TWO of those in SLI wouldn't break a sweat running FSX.

Problem is... we're in that grey area where dumping $500 into a video card, pre DX10 makes people (me ) nervous.

The DX10 8800GTX comes out in a few days and is around 95% faster than the fastest current DX9 card.

You can have two, or rumoured three in SLI. I have no doubt these could max out fsX.

Does FSX support SLI? Las ttime I checked (a while back ago) FS9 did not support it, you'd actually lose framerates. I don't know if that has changed or what, but I figured I'd ask.

I find the best way to improve FPS is to take a couple of sleeping tablets about an hour before using FSX - that way I'm nice & lethargic & everything else just seems to be going quicker, FSX runs lovely like that.
