In FS9, I copied all my downloaded sound and gauge files into its respective folders. Now it's difficult or impossible to determine exactly which files belong to what aircraft. I want to better organize my FSX downloads as much as possible. My question now is:

If I add a folder (ex: B747 Sound) containing the downloaded sound files to the FSX sound folder, would that be the same as simply adding all the sound files directly to the FSX sound folder? This way I will know which to transfer or delete if I have to. Hope this is not confusing.

for added aircraft sonds I made a folder in my aircraft folder called ACsounds. I put all my added engine sounds in the folder and alised the planes sound.cfg to that sound. Like this:
[fltsim]
alias=SimObjects\Airplanes\ACsounds\DC-9.snd

Gauges will work from the Panel folders of the aircraft they belong to.
