I see slavazon.com (I worked there over Holiday 2004, so I have the inside knowledge to call it that) is selling it for $65 plus shipping, I assume. I just saw it tonight at Best Buy for 50 bucks, plus tax. You do the math...
emachines T6212; AMD Athlon64 3800+ (2.40 GHz; Venice core); Allied AL-B500E 500W power supply; 2048Mb PC3200 DDR400; Westinghouse LCM-22w2 wide-screen LCD monitor; eVGA e-GeForce 7900 GS KO X16 PCIe video card; Logitech Extreme 3D Pro flight controller;&&Cyber Acoustics CA-4100 4-channel digital sound with 5 speakers; 300 Gb external hard drive in an enclosure; Windows XP Home; 3 Mb/s AT&T/Yahoo! DSL service; Microsoft Intellipoint trackball; Supergate EC-2000 multi-media keyboard. Epson CX-7800 Stylus all-in-one printer. Canon PowerShot S3 IS digital camera with 1 Gb SD card.&&Next thing: A CH Products USB 2.0 Flight Yoke (for enhanced realism).

That's actually a good deal, because the one you see at Amazon.com is the deluxe edition for $65, and the deluxe version at Best Buy is $70. The one you saw at best buy is the standard version, and is normally $50, but only $45 on Amazon.com. So if you want it for $5 cheaper, go to Amazon.com.

There are different versions? Thanks for the heads-up! What does one have over the other?

The deluxe version has the G1000 glass panel, the ability to be an ATC in multiplayer, the SDK, and some other stuff I think. It was worth it just for the G1000 in my opinion.

I noticed a week before the official release that the local WalMarts had the Deluxe version for $49. Not only a mistake about the release dates but also the cost

Is there any way that I can upgrade my FSX Standard Edition to Deluxe without buying the software?

I have seen Deluxe for $69 around here, but I have a hard time spending that much on a GAME. I'll just wait a year until they have it marked down to $29.99, just like I did for FS2004.

I dunno what the deal was - promotional sales gimmick - or pricing mistake, but my wife picked up the deluxe edition for me at Circuit City in Avondale Arizona on the release date (Oct 17) for $37.99. I have the receipt available and can scan it if need be.
I don't get it though. Seems like that would have meant the regular would have been at $27.99. The advertised price on their site says $49.99 and $59.99 respectively.
Any way I really got a deal on it judging from what some paid here.
