As I read though the threads conserning ways to improve FSX and also try out some diffrent setups for my graphics card and clock speeds and such...I have been able to tweek the game to a pretty good level for my setup...which isnt top of the line but is handling the game pretty well.

Though I have seen a few folks who are running duo-core and SLI/crossfire complain about issues...my system which doesnt have those is doing alright...though mine has been set up for a game that though not having the graphical drain that FSX has....is set up for higher level CPU drain from calculations...from running anouther game...along with the 3gigs of plugins that it loads during play.

Also...I am using Photoshop CS2 to edit the images....they are origanally much better after editing but the file size limits force me to lower the quality setting quite a bit and shrink them...ugg  Smiley

you'll be pretty surprised really...

AMD 3500+ 2.20
WiN Pro
3gig corsairs pc3200 400 (OC to 475)
BFG Nvida 7800GT 512mb  OC with beta drivers
2 300gb HD (game installed on second HD separate from WIn as all my games)
Creative audioligy LS (I know..cheap one Smiley )

performance is helped by the separate HD for the game and also increased swap files for windows and a separate game profile with many services and background programs shut off. Many programs ((even when shut down)) still call up memory or reserve...its best not to have them load up at all.... good example...MSN messenger and such.

no way your computer was above 2 fps in that auto-gen nightmare from hell...  I have a similar rig, but a few better parts and only 2 gigs ram and mine couldnt possibly handle that.
