ooohhh can you please give me a link to this scenery, because gloucester is my local airport on FS because they are to stingy to make my nearest strip....

As for canals, by definition they are non tidal!!  Both the Med and Red sea are tidal BUT the tidal range is so small as to have no impact. For example a REALLY high tide in the Med is 0.6 metres!!!!!!!!
Compare that with parts of the UK with tidal ranges of 20-40feet!!!!!!!!
