...Due to and Inmaginable uploaded Photos and shot ,Gift that ours servers must be very good to deal with it, I ask Its there a posibility to each one of the members can see And the most important delete un-use own images?

, I remember there was a time, when I could replace and image by gaving the exact name of it,to relief and save space from the server's HDD's and also later was a problem, good idea to change this format  a cleaver one idea because anybuddy else could delete also others member avatar and important using images too.

My point is I'm concerning about it in the latest month has become a little slower that it used to, I'm not the only one who feels it.

I'm not complaining to this great place, in fact maybe I'm ignorant in the world of servers, site, etc ,I'm just asking if theres a posibility (as IM section of every member) wich every post can  delete it by the own people To CONTRIBUITE in this case, and not overload the server with millons of millons of un-use Garbage

Just a modest question from an ignorant perhaps.

EDIT: Maybe even with a limit per member like 1mg to 100megabytes, I don't know, so poster as in freeware or payware screenshots can handle a little more responsability, I'm going to post my shot in November contest ,Wow I don't have to much space ,Mmm let me delete this old shots i posted quite agoSee what I mean?

EDIT2: Or maybe a diferent upload once you hit upload images a question shows like Upload and keep it for this period a Year, month, a week,Undefinaly,
I don't know ,maybe all my thinkings are just Bull Garbage

One more thing, I 'm awaring that, I picked the wrong place this should be post in Suggest..I'm sorry ...

You could have removed it & posted it there yourself.* Tongue

I don't think it's possible to do as you suggest. Even if you deleted the topics with images in them they would remain on the server. Only Pete can remove them which he does occasionally.

*PS. You can't now unless I remove mine too.

Actually the images don't take that much space - just a few small GB.

The forums use hardly any bandwidth - the main site is sometimes around 300GB / day - the forums maybe 1GB if that.

Like Doug says - every now & then I have a clearout of old images - & it really annoys those with old avatars ...

Seriously I'm saying this because of why of many many un-used photos & shot Gift wich are just occuping space
I'm sure Pete does what you told me ,But try to go back into the first Freeware screenshots pages you'll see that are people who never visit this days here and with their post still on it ,for example,That only to call one from Graphics ,Not joke, cafe ,desing there are old post from Makemdl 2002 that no one will see it again Calculate how many people per day Upload images
Its like the server wich provide planes, It did has to change their way Because they were 30.000(I can't remember what had been told 300.000 or 30.000?) per day and It has to change the system to avoid sofware as "download acelerator" Because People abuse as usual  Undecided.

of course IT can (In mecanichal ways)is computers & softwares after all..and only in graphics at least

Of course someone else has the last word here. Like I said Just of though of my own crazy mind.. Grin

Hay Caramba!!!Mr. Pete!
I was typing while you post. Grin

I haven't noticed anything. In fact exactly the opposite & the forum has been running well for me recently. I suspect the problem is at your end.

Hi Alex.
Petes in the process of server changes and so on, so hopefully when all is said and done the place should be running much smoother for everyone.
I for one would be happy if this place only had images in the image sections. And the code be turn off in all the other subsections. But that wont happen so hopefully the change overs will help. I know it would also be nice to have an option to turn off sig images in the profile section, some forums offer this so your screen isn't cluttered with them, again maybe for the future.

Actually I've noticed it too, The Forum is slow on certain times. Not to slow but slower than  normal. I think The problem lies withing my connection though and I only notice it more on Simv cuz that is where I spend most of my internet time Grin

Having said that... How's the new server coming along Pete?

If you use the Firefox browser there is a Load Images option in Tools. You can disable this to make webpages load faster. Of course, this affects all images.

PS. I've never been a big fan of these huge sig images that seem so popular now. They're completely unnecessary & if it was up to me they would be banned. Tongue Wink

As if I would do that. Tongue

Seriously, I see your point & I'm sure Pete is well aware of it. If it was a serious problem there are ways & means of preventing other sites/forums from linking to images hosted on the server.

I suspect that your problems are due either to your ISP or your connection. It could also be your PC and/or browser settings. Pete always recommended doing a tracert to find any hangups between you & the website server.
Click Start > Run & type [ tracert www.simviation.com ] in the box.
