This is my 7th version of FS/CFS and it's the same every single time.

First, everyone gripes about 'where is it?'

then everyone gripes about 'I can't get it'

then everyone gripes about low fps.

then everyone gripes about 'the patch'

then people start griping about having to replace their add-ons

then everyone gripes about 'where is the sdk?' (not a problem this time)

then a few add-ons start trickling in...

then people start accepting the new version

then people start LOVING the new version

then people start wondering what's in the next version

then everone goes back to item #1

Can we skip all the BS and assume eventually it will grow on us and get on with having fun?  I'll repeat word for word what I said when FS 2000 came out, because it applies here again.  "MS is n ot going to release a sim to run on a (current, then 350 mhz) 2.4 gig chip.  It is releasing this sim for what computers will be like a year from now."  Things move forward, not back; and MS is planning for tomorrow, not yesterday.  So it is here, get used to it and quit bitching about it or go home.  Roll Eyes

Wow, so true. Once Vista and all of the right hardware comes out, this "I hate my computer I get below 10 FPS with all minimum" will go away (That was an example don't worry).... But we will have to deal with it until Christmas when Vista comes out, jeez. My question is, what is holding Microsoft to delay Vista so long? If it doesn't come out by Christmas, I'll take a visit to Ol' Billy and see what he thinks...... Now lets see, which rifle should I bring...Wink.....?

High Flight Oh! I have slipped the surly bonds of earth And danced the skies on laughter-silvered wings; Sunward I've climbed, and joined the tumbling mirth Of sun-split clouds - and done a hundred things You have not dreamed of - wheeled and soared and swung High in the sunlit silence. Hov'ring there I've chased the shouting wind along, and flung My eager craft through footless halls of air. Up, up the long delirious, burning blue, I've topped the windswept heights with easy grace Where never lark, or even eagle flew - And, while with silent lifting mind I've trod The high untresspassed sanctity of space, Put out my hand and touched the face of God.&&

Amen Kevin.... I am tired of this, Though this is the FIRST time I bought an FS when it was first released, it actually surprised me personally because i have a crappy computer (Look in my sig) well the only crappy thing is the graphics card.... but still, and I also agree when Vista, the DX10 patch/Conversion and new DX10 hardware come out, everyone will start to see there frames like FS9.... I looked at the files on my disk everything says DX9.... so there will HAVE to be a patch or conversion of some sort for DX10, unless it was a marketing scam (I doubt this) Now.... Can everyone stop complaining. I need some asprin now!

i agree with everything you've said there Kevin, its going to take a fair bit of time for all the bugs to be sorted out, but when that time comes it'll be similar to numbers 8 and 10.

edit...... if there's any typo's i do apologise, not had any sleep uin 60hrs.

I agree.
However, why are there always so  many "bugs to be sorted out"?

Simply because falible human beings make mistakes and don't find all of them... There isn't a sophisticated program on the planet that is completely free of "bugs...."

[Examples]

X-Plane:
1. Bouncing-tennis-ball-like water landings even on completely calm weather and even you land on a very shallow angle.
2. Accasional crashes to desktop.

IL-2:
1. Terribly-overdone stall characteristics.
2. No addons except for skins and missions.
3. Rediculous patching process.

FS Series:
1. It's like going on a date with a high-maintainance woman, it's expensive as heck [hardware and time wise].

Orbiter:
1. ...
2. ...
3. ...can't think of any at the moment. Grin
