Just about had enough of FSX Embarrassed

I received my copy last week and since then have tried installing/reinstalling at least 5 times due to error messages that appear once the program seems to work.

I had it working perfectly (with good FPS) yesterday (spent all day optimizing the graphics and then later after restarting the comp I get a message window saying
"Flight Simulator cannot load some program files. This program will now close"

This has happened four times now. Am on the verge of returning FSX to play.com and sticking with FS2004!

Have searched around but it appears no one else has suffered the same error messages appearing?

If anyone has any ideas please let me know (I still have FS2004 installed. I hope this isn't causing the errors in FSX!)

If it was working yesterday but not today you either did something to break it or someone else did without you knowing.

(Did you try to add FSNavigator or something?)

If I were you I'd run a full Virus scan and a Spybot scan to make sure you're not infected with anything.

Then if it's still not working I'd back up your config files, uninstall the whole thing and start again.

Good luck!

No I deliberately haven't been adding any external programs to it - just spent time optimizing the FPS.

All was well until I restarted the comp. Click the exe file and up pops "Flight Simulator was unable to load some program files and will now close.."

Even repairing it from the DVD didn't fix it doh ???

Can't find any other instances of this error on these or other FlightSim forums (or Google for that matter..) so I guess its a PC problem. Time to reinstall XP2 zzzzzzzzzzz

At least FS2004 is still installed and works perfectly Cheesy
