AIRBUS autopilot..??? (Read 546 times)

hi back to microsoft f.s after quite some time, and i can't get the airbus autopilot to work??? it does'nt respond... any ideas? thanks

Read up on the DIFFERENCES in the Airbus FBW (Fly By Wire) autopilot system in the Help/Learning Center...  8)

I still respectully suggest that you read the bleeding manual provided though.

The FBW autopilot is very, very, very different than the Boeing autopilot...  Shocked

It's easy tomix up FBW with the autopilot.

And please keep the terms FBW and Flight envelopes separated aswell. What makes the airbus so different from flying the B737 is that the Airbus has a restricted flight envelope (which you can disengage on the overhead panel, just disconnect the FAC's)

But Airbus autopilot uses a different philosophy, but it has nothing to do with neither FBW nor flight envelopes.

It is more of an interface differential. If you want to fly after derived FMGC calculations you push the knobs (speed, altitude and heading knobs), and if you want the AP to fly after manual inputs in the autopilot panel, you just pull the knobs.
