Do I detect an element that you are going to big time tweak your FSX sometime soon --- but ...  for the time being prefer your MASSIVELY tweeked FS9?  Smiley

I'm not sure, but I started with 50 gigs of free space, and I just checked it a second ago and I have 9gigs free now...does FS install alot more than it says or is something up? is there a way to check what is taking up the most memory? I checked add/remove programs, but nothing.  ???

No it's not bad in comparison. If I can run my FS9 fully maxed out with 30fps on my system but the FSX demo won't run higher than 10fps I wonder what the bad one is. Ok, graphics might be better in FSX compared to the standard FS9 but with GE Pro and FE I think I got a decent FS that can last for a couple of years. Without spending a ton on hardware just to get FSX to run smoothly.

Why would I go back to boring fs9. Seriously, it is pretty bad in comparison.

Aye young Padwan!!

You have not seen the light!!
You do not know the ways of the payware force!

Seriously. The only thing I would gain at the moment is better water textures. My machine and simulator has so much payware, it is probably better than FSX!  Grin Grin

Like I said, I will wait and watch as I see allot of issues. I have a smooth running sim with all the eye candy that comes with FSX, yes I have paid much money but well worth it!!

I will wait for the patches, Vista & DX10 before I fly FSX! I fly to enjoy the experience, not to be frustrated!

And Bindoe, if you would like to see the light, click here!  Grin

Thing is, if you want to get the same frame rate in FSX that you do in FS9, you'll have to reduce the sliders down to a point where the graphics are actually worse!

I just installed FSX and like alot of others and only set the sliders to 50% accross the board. The worst thing I get is real shaky views while in spot view it jumps around like water on a hot frying pan Grin.
I have both FS9 and FSX on my other 80 gig hard drive and nothing else on it. I plan on keeping FS9 untill all of the patches come out for the payware I have. I am allready saving up my money to upgrade my system which was something I was planning on doing any way. 8)

Ok guys,i´ve read alot of posts during the last days and all that i can say is; i´m very satisfied with FSX so far. The FR i get are roundabout 15-20 fps depending on which view i use. What i am actually missing is just that there are only few planes to fly with. And i still have not found a list which tells me ,if and which Planes i can convert to FSX.
It´s a little bit drowning to see so many posts of people who have expected so much from the new Sim and now realise that their expectations are not fullfilled.(yet)
Funniest post to read was the one from Fly2e.
If evertyhing in life could be so easy to keep frustration away! Grin
