My lappy is running FSX decently with mid-high settings and holding about 15 fps with all the mentioned tweaks in this forum.

Specs...

Intel Core Duo 1.83Ghz
2 GB DDR RAM
ATI Radeon Express X1400 256 MB card

...it's a Dell Inspiron E1505 if that makes any difference to ya.

I am happy to see the X1400 run FSX decently, because I am planning to buy Dell E1505(X1400), or a HP dv6000t(Go 7400).

Thanks to Justin.

Looking for more owners to share your FSX experience on your lappy.

AMD 3200 64
Gigabyte Mobo
ATI x800 256mb (dumbed down one though)
2 gb ddr 400

I have had to turn off autogen to get over 10fps.  However, I can run locked at 24fps with decent settings otherwise.  Aircraft on ultrahigh, water on High 1x, most everything else in the middle.  Advanced animations ON.

I have found that water and most everything else is minor, but the autogen is a total killer.

Also, my frames were the same before and after a couple of the autogen tweeks, so I just turned it off.

All in all, it still looks decent considering that autogen is off.  The effects in multiplayer (that actually work!) is worth just about anything being turned off.  Me and a buddy chased eachothers contrails through the Florida sky today.  Awesome to go ballistic and watch the contrail in tower view too.

Oh, these framerates are using the AF Hornet.  In single player and multiplayer, it actually gets better fps in the VC than external.  Multiplayer had about a 3-5fps drop from just being in a server, but I could still top out at 24 when away from the airport.  I may try changing out the tarmac textures.......we will see.

Go 6200 is a low end card. It is not surprised when you said FSX is slow on this card. Go 6200 is not for a gamer. Your only solution is change to at least a Go 7400 or X1400. Even X1300 and Go 7300 wont make much better.

Low end? How bout take a look at mine...

Win XP Home SP2
P4 2.0GHz
256MB DDR RAM
GF2 MX w 64MB video RAM
40 GB HDD

Well, its a 4 yr old rig and since it runs FS2004 okay, i've got complacent and not upgraded it. Unfortunately, this time FSX (Demo) crashes on it - All onboard killed.

Yes, Go6200 is a low end modern card, while your GF2 is an out of dated card.

But don't worry, I got following same problem with you:
CPU:celeron 1.2G
Ram: 512M
GF2 MX400 64M
I bought this PC during 2002 world cup, and the game was Brasil vs. England when I was in the PC shop.

So I am still running FS 2004 on this baby, and looking for a lappy to run FSX, like dell E1505 with X1400.
