The FSX introductory music is driving me up the wall. How do I kill it?

Try the sound settings, you can either change, or I think turn it off, you may even be able to add your own music!

Cheers, Gunny

This is why God gave man brains so that we can enough intelligence to invent volume controls such as the MUTE button that's located at the top right corner of the main menu. Grin

Anybody know what file the menu music is? I'd like to change it to the Top Gun theme song  Grin

Answered my own question. I'm a fool.

C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Microsoft Flight Simulator X\Sound\UIMusic\fsx01.wav for those of you wishing to make mods as I do.

I'll be experimenting to see if it will work with MP3s or something.

Seems I'm talking to myself.
Anyways MP3s will not work. Must first convert to .WAV
It is pretty awesome to open up FS and hear the Top Gun theme playing  Grin

So here's a quick rundown of what to do.

First find this folder...
C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Microsoft Flight Simulator X\Sound\UIMusic

Next replace FSX01.WAV with the .WAV file of your choice.
What I did was use a converter I already had on my computer from other devices (Creative Media Source) to convert MP3s to WAV. I'm sure they're are some free ones out there that do the same. Just google it.

Just in case you ever decide to revert back to the original music it would be wise to back up the FSX01. I named mine FSX01.original.WAV

I'm just way too proud of myself for doing something so simple haha. Enjoy.
