hmmm Maybe turn some sliders down? that would be my guess, you have everything I do but two things, you have a dual core, and a Better Graphics card.... I run medium high in the demo with

AMD athlon 3800 Venice Socket 939 at 2.4Ghz, 6100K8MA-RS Foxconn Motherboard, 2 gigs (4X512MB) PC3200 Ram, 128MB Nvidia 7300LE PCI-E (Takes some system ram) 250 gig SATA Hard drive,300W PSU

Cheers, Gunny

AMD athlon 3800 Venice Socket 939 64 bit at 2.4Ghz, 6100K8MA-RS Foxconn Motherboard, 1gb (2X512) OCZ Platinum PC3200 Ram, EVGA 8800GTS 640MB OC, 500 Watt NZXT psu, and Windows Vista Ultimate Total hard drive space 530gb

You have the exact system as me except for the processor. Turn down your sliders, or atleast the water

Will run fine on a dual core I think.... Might not be Optimized for it, but it will run regardless. Remember, Flight sim is more graphical than it is a resource hog (Well it used to be) Now it eats up 1.6 gigs of ram! Cheers, Gunny

windows Vista is supposed to be 64bit OS. I am wondering if anywone with a 64bit xp pro as tried it?

FSX is optimised for 64bit kernel.

if you run xp pro 32bit it will run as 2 cpu computer not as a 1 cpu 64bit bus. at the moment fs9 does not support 2 cpu 32 bit (it will run the process only on one 32 bit set)so I dont expecte that fsx will support it also.

But as a 64bit kernel it should show your dual core as a single 64 bit cpu. (XP64 and Vista) there fore using one set of 64bit processing power.

That is where i think will be the difference. I expect hugh difference just in the way that the processes are being treated by the cpu.

No, fsX is firmly 32bit.

If you read all the blogs posted by members of the ACES team, you'll see that they never optimized it for 64bit hardware for one reason only:

The market for 64bit hardware is not big enough and there's not enough users who own 64bit let alone be able to afford such expensive hardware.

If it was optimized for 64bit then everyone would have to spend even more money to upgrade if they want to take full advantage of FSX.

How can FSX be optimised for a 64bit os and not support 64bit instruction set.

how can it be RED and BLUE at the same time. everywhere it say optimised for Vista and yet your telling NO Way???

Everyone is buying DUAL CORE intel and 64Bit AMD and yet I am being told way to expensive hardware?

Did you look at Dell pc lately. They are almost all DUAL. and they are fading out pentium 4. I wonder why is that.... VISTA is the answers.

People, you had the exact same beavior when pentium replaced DX 100, hey it is to expensive and yet one year later people needed a pentium 166...and win95 was "the thing". Can we stop repeating the passed.

Wait and see by then you will have forgoten what i said. human nature. I dont blame anyone I dont remember what I hate last month...  Roll Eyes

Microsoft said it "will be" optimized....not that it CURRENTLY is.  Somewhere I think I read that they will be issuing a "patch" for FSZ when Vista will be released.  My guess that "patch" will be more like a re-write.  Wink

I think the original intent was to have it and Vista coming out about the same time.

It is optimized for Vista. I only said that it's not optimized for the 64bit stuff [yet].
