It's also expected that the Lancaster will undergo a repaint for a new scheme.

So they said at Cosford, all set for a new scheme for next year. Has anyone heard what it will be?

Rumours I've seen are that it's set to be "Phantom Of The Ruhr", no idea whether it's true or not.

My guess is it's going to be painted as an RAF Lancaster. Tongue

Coastal Command would be pretty cool.

And there's not really much difference between WWII RAF and Canadian.

Not the point I was making, I was just being a nit picker! Cheesy Grin

If it's painted in anything other than RAF colours then it won't be very appropriate as a Battle Of Britain Memorial aircraft for the RAF...

I dunno. Coastal Command was crewed by RAF crews and aircraft. It's only right that their achievement should be recognised aswell. Or Hows about just a Lanc in daylight colours.

As a wonderful parting legacy, Wg Cdr Wayne White has been instrumental in ensuring that the BoBMF Lancaster will, after the 2006 display season, be repainted in 100 Squadron colours. At the end of 2006, the Lancaster will be taken to RAF St Athan for major servicing and repainting. Early in 2007, the Lancaster will be rolled out of the hangar to emerge as 'HW-R Roger, Phantom of the Ruhr' and in 100 Squadron Colours. She will fly as 'our' aeroplane for the next six years. This is a very pleasing development for both 100 Squadron and our Association, and Wayne White who worked very hard to achieve this. We shall try to get to St Athan to film the roll out for the 90th Commemorative DVD

I think it would look good in costal command colours or in a post war white over black scheme. However one of the tour guides at Coningsby told me what squadron colours it will be wearing, but I can't remember what he said Embarrassed. 100 squadron I think.
