Picked up the book at some car boot sale last summer for about 20p! What a bargain!!

I've never ever seen the movie but the book is written so well that you can almost see the events happen like it is a movie! Of course the subject is rather gruesome

but still

If you've never read the book.. I can recommend it. It's awesome!

The movie is dramatic and captivating.  It a movie worth seeing.....once.  Pol Pot was an evil, evil man.  Proves the domino effect theory did take place, but on a much more limited scale than predicted.

The domino theory was bandied about during the cold war.  There were minds in the us that believed if communist expansion wasn't stopped around the world, countries would "fall" under communism as dominos fall when stacked next to each other.

after the fall of saigon, cambodia did fall under the kemer rouge, which was friendly to the communists in viet nam, much to the horror of the cambodians.  but the domino theory ended with cambodia.
