step by step analysis...

Not a civil plane
Too large for a fighter, should be a bomber then
Name in the right lower corner isnt a contructor or design bureau

Anyway... its a Grigorovich TB-5, and it nearly crashed on one of its test flights

More info Here

It's very similar to the Farman F.222. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Farman_F.222

99% sure that they had a Tupolev SB-2 pictured there (if it was in spanish civil war republican colors)

Finland did operate the SB-2... (also known as ANT-40)

Other candidates...
  • Most of the Tupolev designs of the 'TB' class
  • Any of the variants of the SB series (http://www.ctrl-c.liu.se/misc/RAM/sb.html)
  • Tupolev DB-1 (ANT-25)
  • Ilyushin DB-3
  • Yermolaev Yer-2 / DB-240
  • Tupolev Tu-2 series
  • Ilyushin Il-4 (finnish captures known)
  •

I'm seeing this a bit late, but my first thought was a
bomber version of the Fokker F.32 airliner..  Smiley
