Well there have been an explosion of airshows here on the V. first i must ask why you all insist on haveing ATC, when in a real airshow ATC are never involved except for keeping the airspace clear for the performers. Now maby a show coordinator? To direct and remind people when to go would be good. Now, personally i dont think we should have more than 1 every month or two. As i look back there have been 5 in the past month and a half. Thats way to many even for the most hardcore sim addict. I just suggest that we start spreading them out a little more, as i said maby limit it to 1 every month or two. Sceduleing is also a problem as we have members in US and in UK and other countries, we have plenty of weekly hops happening so that really another topic all togeather. Just my opinion, as it seems evrytime i open this forum section i see a new airshow thread  Grin Grin Wink

The reason is, we now have a lot of over-enthusiastic, individual "Newbies" on the Forum desperately trying to make their mark and show their authority...
...rather like Politicians...
...and we all know how much we love them... Wink...!

I occasionaly pop over for a flight in "WS Pilots" where there is often a spare, empty Multiplayer slot on one of their Ports, this often saves cluttering up Sam's server when it is busy... Wink...!

Whichever public Server is being used, it is VERY important to show respect to other players already booked for their regular group flights, so a reduction in the total number of individual group flights would be very welcome on all the Servers, and avoid annoyance and confusion... Shocked....!!

Nice one Paul..

I go with Jakemaster, an airshow takes ages, and if we all sit in our sailplane it also looks silly..... Roll Eyes

i think that it is a good thing having so many airshows and fly-ins because there are more chances for people that are bizzy to make it to a show.

Certainly does.... Grin

Talking of that, Tweek, we should organise another one when (if?) this airshow activity dies down and there hasn't been one for quite some time - I've been practising an airshow routine in a certain aircraft recently.... 8)

Certainly... Some time in the half term holiday would be nice, as it would give time to organise it.

I think there should be 4 shows a year, maybe a quarterly type thing.  Schedule it far in advance so it does not interfere with other scheduled events as Fozzer stated.  Plus, it should be more of a special event, we get to see the best of the best from the best pilots.

If you feel the urge to show off to others, invite them to a session on a multiplayer server such as Elite Flyers or Hawk Flyers.

Oh, btw, I am working on a crowd line for people to view from.  Will be as low-latency as possible, and I will reserve its use for when we have these shows.
