Well I had to do a rhubarb into Holland from my base near Thetford... here are some snaps from the mission. Spitfire XVI courtesy of Plane Design.
There are two types of aeroplane, Spitfires and everything else that wishes it was a Spitfire!

Johnnie Johnson - 'Winged Victory' 1995 - Ch5 P48.
"I loathed these Rhubarbs with a deep, dark hatred. Apart from the flak, the hazards of making a let-down over unknown territory and with no accurate knowledge of the cloud base seemed too great a risk for the damage we inflicted. During the following three summers, hundreds of pilots were lost on either small or mass Rhubarb operations"
Nice shots Mark

Very nice pics pal, even if the XVI came a bit late for Rhubarb ops.

A rhubarb was the name for a low-level beat-up of targets of opportunity. They were normally put on when the weather was tooooooooo bad (I mean really sh*tty) for normal ops and some pilots were getting a little anxious. Hence the wee bombs on my wings
