Looks like clouds  ???

...&&It is better to remain silent and be considered a fool, than to open your mouth and remove all doubt.&&&&There were once four people named Everybody, Somebody, Nobody and Anybody. Somebody had to do a job, but Nobody wanted to do it. Nobody could see that Anybody could do it, and Somebody got angry about that because it was Everybody's job. Nobody ended up doing it, and it so happened that Everybody blamed Somebody when Nobody did what Anybody could have done.

Nope that exacly the milky way ,see among stars in a clear night away from cities, you can apresiate like this , one of two sides of the milky way one would be orion's arm and the other side is capricorn side the solar system is inserted as one of the millons stars what you see in the night would confuse to not known`people with a cloud ,But is not That why ancient call "the milky way" its a view of millons of millons of stars that make the shapes as it were milk ,but looking through the telescope or even any binocular you may see are far distances millons of suns or stars ,all of the part of the milky way ,the name of the Galaxy we live on

Most of the times in a single night you can see both sides Orion constelation is in fact part of one of this arm wich carry many close start relative to earth ,in

In a very clear and away from light city you can see it ,and that representation of FSX its the Milky way,(I climb Above 80.000 to check it out before post it ,It is
Watch the altitude!!

EDIT:I fix the image the other was too dark

I check my estelar map and its exacly the actual position of capricorn arm,,.straight ahead there's the center of our galaxy,
It would be amazing if this FSX also carries the closest stars (the celestial and local stars) you can use it as a guideness in this game as old Sailors use to navigate
Ill check this out now..

I've seen it too ALROT, it's pretty amazing.  I wasn't even expecting it, and suddenly I start FSX and there's the Milky Way!  I'm guessing it's one of those little additions in FSX we'll probably be noticing in the next couple of months. Wink

That is very cool... it's weird sometimes flying in FS9's not-so-accurate night skies.
It would be even better if one could actually navigate with the stars generated in the sim; I've found that doesn't work too well in FS9.
BTW, Alrot, you should know that it wasn't just sailors who used to use celestial navigation: it was a must for pilots also, until fairly recently.

I downloaded "Real Stars"  into FS9 which certainly has enough stars to navigate by. But for accuracy one does need the little windows in the cockpit roof aka the VC10.
It displays ALL the stars greater than magnitude 5 !!!!!!!!

Ahem!!!!!! You can see the Milky Way from the ground!!!!!!! Maybe in your neck of the woods there's too much light pollution. But there are many places away from towns and cities where it is clearly visible!!!
