Sadly, as often occurs, it appeared on the news bullitins purely for entertainment value, but doesn't appear on the TV news websites...
Journalistic scum as always - would they show someone being killed in a car crash on the news?

Charlie you've really got the military feel for journalists
Now round 'em up, put 'em in a field and bomb the bastards (as Kennys fab General Franklin D. Bombthebastards would say)
There are two types of aeroplane, Spitfires and everything else that wishes it was a Spitfire!

...as long as they're five yards ahead of the front line!

One of my dark fantasies whilst in the service was to take down the Daily Mail offices with a load of LAW 66s and a GPMG with a LOAD of ammo.... mind you given the chance I think I'd still do it

Racing is probably the riskiest type of flying... terrible news but at least only one person lost his life... for what little that's worth.
That's one lucky Irishman, from the look of the remains of that Extra... I wish him a full and speedy etc.

From the pics I've seen he must have had a lightweight ejection seat...

Just in case anyone wanted to see the accident,
http://www.alexisparkinn.com/photogallery/Videos/2006-9-12-Malta_Midair.wmv
No gore or anything.
From the video, I conclude that the tail was basically chopped off and then the plane had no stability making it pitch up then kinda going into a tumble.
