I thought we should try something new for qualifying our pics for the gallery. It may be a way to eliminate the polls and still ensure only the "finest of the finest" screenart makes it in. Here's what I suggest. You enter a pic by titleing your thread Gallery Submission. If you like, put a title on your entry to help express and dramatize the pic. Then, we have the same approval rate we use now: 80% yes comments based on a minimum of 25 comments. The difference is if you want to "vote" for the pic either yes or no, you just put a reply comment in the thread with your opinion. For example, you'd write in the thread reply: I think your pic is great, perfect sky, great colors, I definately say yes. Then, when the submitted screenshot has a minimum of 25 responses it qualifies. Now it's just a matter of the pic receiving 80% positive replies. I think this system will encourage everyone to post a comment about the submitted pic and should bring a lot of positive and constructive criticism to the table. If the pic is mediocre, the lack of responses will be a sure indication it didn't merit Gallery consideration in the first place. So, tell me what you think of this system and here's a trial pic we can experiment with.. Smiley

definately!!

i think the way some of the constructive criticism would come would be perfect for the studio, doing exactly what the studio is meant to do!

the only thing i think is that some people may not vote at all now becasue of the added effort (lazy people!!!) all they used to have to do was check a box and hit vote, hopefully, hopefully this wont happen though!!!

cheers

Hence.."missed approach"  Wink

I think it may be a stretch getting 25 responses minimum to qualify each entry, let's try it for a bit, then we can reduce the 25 if necessary.  Smiley

looks good to me...
less abrupt than simply clicking yes-no.
and as lilley said it's going in accordance with studioV's aims...

and I vote yes for your pic to enter the gallery. first I love the corsair, the sky is very dramatic, but still coloured. and we can really feel the action going on.
You used to post picture more crystal clear, but still yes...
Wink

PS: the sailboat should move away... otherwise.... Cheesy

I had my graphic card set on "performance" in this shot,
although it has been underperforming in general lately for reasons unknown.

The sailboat? It is a bit close to being pulverized by the carrier isn't it... Wink

This seems to be a much better idea Clipper, on most of the polls that have been around later there hasn't been that many comments made, which without no-one will improve there shots, which after all is what the studio is about...constructive criticism Wink
