spring for it then!

I'm not gonna get FSX till DX10 and Vista come out, cuz thats gonna be when i get a completely new PC, with quad-SLI, and stuff.  I'm gonna get a huge bundle.

Besides, the price should slowly go down every 2 months or so.  So I might get an even better deal.  Or not.

...&&FS Water Configurator+ has new modifications in the works, plus DirectX 10, Service Pack&&1, and Radeon HD 3+ Series support.

Lots of big deal out of pre-ordering FSX. What I have learned it is better to wait than to be impatient. The term "Good things comes to those who wait?" comes to mind.

I found interest in the Flight Simulator Series from FS2000. The only reason I jumped on FS2002 was because visually the aircrafts and scenery looked way better then FS2000. But when FS2004 was released I was hesitant because FS2002 looked just as good as FS2004 (in the beginning lol.)

I waited to see how FS2004 developed itself (interms of aircraft and scenery) before I eventually bought it. The aircraft looked more detailed in FS2004 than in FS2002. I would say after 4 months after the release of FS9 was when I purchased it.

To be honest after playing the FSX demo, The only improvement is the water and land textures. I think I can enjoy FS9 for a few months and monitor the FSX addons for qaulity before I make the switch. I think It would make the game more enjoyable the longer you hold out!

lol.  Well, I think there's a few more improvements than just the water & land textures.  Head movements are better.  External views are better.  The cockpit detail seems to be much better.  Lighting is better.  The boats moving through the water and the cars on the roads are a nice touch.  FSX is going to be fantastic.

I feel lucky to be able to run the demo pretty dang well at Medium & Medium High settings with a 4-yr old P4 2.4GHz.

yea i forgot to mention those nit nads as well  Grin But it will take more then just boats moving on water and trucks and cars moving on land to sell me.

I don't doubt that I will eventually buy FSX. But I am going to enjoy FS9 until I see something really awesome come out for FSX  Shocked!

What really sold me on FS9 was how beautiful the scenery looked (the sunsets, the water, the aircrafts, the detailed airports). Once i started seeing those awesome screenshots it made me cough up my $45 bucks for it!

I am just patiently waiting for FSX to do the same thing  Shocked

Cool.  Well, patience is a virtue, as they say.   Smiley

I, personally, was sold when I locked the wheel brakes in the RJ, fired up the jets and saw my virtual head rock back when I finally released the brakes for a short take-off.   Grin

Awesome!  hehe

Considering how addons have improved "every" version of FS, the wait will be worth it.

Well, patience is a virtue, but i don't know if what i'm doing is patience. Tongue

I'm waiting for DX10 compatible hardware, getting a new comp (definately with a TrackIR, and quad-SLI), and buying Vista and FSX at the same time.  I guess I am being patient. Wink

But like you said, we'll see how the addons take down our frame-rates (joke Grin), and improve our experiences. Smiley

Right now, i'm just glad MS didn't stop at FS98 (when i was introduced to it).  Watching FS climb up the hill of realism is great to watch, and seeing addon developers create extra footholds are truely inspiring. Cry

Was that too dramatic?  Sorry...  But you get the idea... Grin

Nothing to be sorry about striker! 8) You just said what i said in a dramatic sense  Grin

Every version of FS has gotten better then its previous version. The addon creators just take it to a whole nother level.

I have always asked myself why Microsoft doesn't reach out to certain designers that have a lot of talent to help in their production of a much better sim.  ???

But I quickly retracted that thought because if FS series came to us as the bundle that we create with addons it would cost us $$$$$$ bucks  Grin! So I like that Microsoft gifts designers for the lack of the words to use....

Better paint canvas's to create artwork on!
